At Esprit Foie Gras, the quality of our products is our priority. For 3 generations, in the heart of the Gers, we've been cooking and preparing duck(foie gras, rillettes, pâtés, legs and breasts...) using excellent local produce and precious family recipes. It's good to say that quality is our top priority. Proving it is the case is even better! Here's a look back at our origins, our traceability requirements, our labels and our distinctions, all of which underpin our determination to offer you high-quality, tasty products that are 100% made in Gers.

Esprit Foie Gras is first and foremost a family story... and a story of terroir.

The origins of Esprit Foie Gras can be traced back to a Gers family. First and foremost, Régine, the grandmother, was a chef by trade and a passionate duck and goose breeder. She passed on her love of cooking and good produce to her daughter and son-in-law, who developed the family business. Ghislaine and René then set up a canning facility to meet the highest standards of food safety. Today, their son Damien works with them. In particular, he initiated online sales to distribute Esprit Foie Gras products throughout France and Europe! He was followed in 2018 by Olivia, his sister. And, in 2021, Gaëtan Marrou, their cousin joins the Esprit Foie Gras adventure. Esprit Foie Gras is a great family story!
What's more, at Esprit Foie Gras, we only process IGP-registered ducks from the South-West of France. The IGP or Indication Géographique Protégée du canard du Sud-Ouest is an official European quality label. It guarantees consumers that the ducks we process have been raised, prepared and packaged in the South-West of France. The PGI also incorporates very strict specifications that are subject to regular controls.
The ducks used in our products are free-range, raised in the Gers and fed on GMO-free South-Western corn.

Our medals at the Concours Général Agricole: recognition for the excellence of our duck products

One of the best proofs of the quality of our products is that they have regularly won medals at the prestigious Concours Général Agricole for over fifteen years. In 2024, our whole foie gras mi-cuit de canard du Gers was awarded a Silver medal. Our pure duck rillettes received a Bronze medal.
Let's not forget that the Concours Général Agricole is a very demanding competition, and the winners are few and far between. We are therefore very happy and proud to see our work recognized and rewarded. We never give up on quality and our standards! And that's what has enabled us to win awards on a regular basis for all these years.
